Ballybough Youth Project is housed within the Ballybough community youth and fitness centre. The goal of the Ballybough Youth Project is to empower young people to make informed decisions so as to become active participants in their own lives and active citizens in their local community.
The project currently works with young people aged 10-25 who live or attend school in the local area. The team look to where young people are at and look to engage those most at risk in the local community by providing services based around the needs of these young people. .
Ballybough Youth Project operates its programmes and activities in the late afternoon, evening time and day time during school holidays to provide a safe space for young people during the times that anti-social behaviour is most likely to occur. The staff provides a wide ranging variety of formal and informal programmes and recreational activities to provide for the varying needs of young people in the local area.
The staff also provides support and advocates on behalf of the young people on a 1:1 basis when required. Through support, encouragement, nurturing, challenging, exploring and developing young people’s skills the project works to empower young people in their own lives.
The timetable is available for viewing on our social media sites or our information board at the side of the centre. The timetable is subject to change depending on the needs of the young people.
